Economic Development
As a small business owner, he understands what it takes to bring businesses to the ward. He also understands that business people do their research before relocating or opening up in Chicago. If they run into an unresponsive alderman in one ward, they will take their business elsewhere.
All too often, businesses and entrepreneurs find the door closed shut in our ward. To jump-start and foster development, John will create a special economic task force and full-time staff positions in the Ward office to attract new businesses to the ward and to help struggling 45th Ward businesses access the many services available to them.
Beyond this long-term plan to foster entrepreneurship in our ward, John plans to ease taxes and fees in that critical first year of a small business’ existence. He will also work to consolidate regulations and inspections so that businesses can have a clear, commonsense framework for success.
